The “3” in our name represents our three founders. Together we bring over 97 years of unique fundraising and direct marketing expertise to your organization. But 3 is even more significant in that it represents our holistic approach to nonprofit fundraising. This three-step method is the foundation upon which all our campaigns are designed.

Ben Borne

President

Ben has been working with nonprofits to raise funds since the turn of the millennium.  Direct response fundraising has always been a good fit with his curiosity of human behavior and how to generate interest and excitement in donating to a broad range of causes.  These qualities have resulted in millions of dollars raised for nonprofits nationwide.

As President of Aegis3 Ben balances direct client work with running a small agency.  He enjoys working with his clients and staff in the new and sometimes challenging age of virtual work. When not in front of his computer, Ben can likely be found with one or more members of his family on Cape Cod, or in a canoe with a fishing pole.

Mike Walsh

Vice President, CFO

Mike Walsh has been fundraising for 43 years and has raised over a billion dollars for his clients. As Vice President and CFO of Aegis3 Fundraising Group, Mike directs all agency fiscal matters. Before joining Aegis3, Mike was Vice President of Marketing for Plan USA. There, he oversaw all national fundraising and sponsor recruitment programs. With Aegis3, Mike provides a high level of dedication to his clients, and leadership to agency staff. Non-profit organizations can count on Mike’s wealth of fundraising experience and business expertise.

Mike enjoys international travel and golfing in sunny Florida. He holds a degree in business from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Bryant University. Mike is a native Rhode Islander and he and his wife Julia split their time between Naples, FL and Westerly, RI.

Elle Vallatini

Account Executive/State Registrations & Contracts

Elle is a seasoned, detail oriented and dedicated senior manager of direct response programs. For nearly three decades, Elle has managed and led several non-profit direct response marketing accounts for a wide spectrum of categories, such as, healthcare and medical, childcare organizations, social welfare, veterans’ affairs and more. As Account Executive, Elle’s focus is the day-to-day management of our clients programs, ensuring all mailings are on time, on budget and legally compliant. Her deep understanding of direct mail production, coupled with her commitment to building strong relationships with service providers, ensures that each client’s program delivers maximum impact.

Elle calls Cape Cod, Massachusetts home, where she lives with her husband and spends her free time running, traveling, and whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen.

Ashley Arrecis

Account Coordinator

With 10 years of experience across account management, human resources, finance, marketing, and graphic design, Ashley brings a versatile skill set to her role as Account Coordinator. Throughout her career, Ashley has honed her ability to manage client relationships, streamline operations, and optimize financial strategies, all while maintaining a creative edge. She is dedicated to understanding the unique needs of each nonprofit and tailoring solutions that lead to lasting success.


Ashley holds a degree in business with a specialty in Marketing and Law from Bentley University. Ashley grew up in Newton, MA, and currently resides in Burlington, MA. Her kittens, Levy and Mochi, have become part of the Aegis3 team through their regular appearances during zoom meetings. When away from her desk, Ashley enjoys traveling, spending time with family, trying new restaurants, and practicing yoga.

Marianne D'Arcy Bakula

Graphic Designer

Marianne brings extensive design and marketing experience to Aegis3. With a focus in non-profit, fundraising and education, you may recognize her previous work from Harvard Business School, Northeastern University Press, National Fire Protection Association or the Boston Museum of Science, among others. She has considerable experience in direct mail, integrated ad campaigns, branding, brochures, annual reports and editorial layout. Marianne’s goal is the same for every project she creates: to establish or improve design, cost, effectiveness, process and impact.

Marianne attended Worcester State University and also holds a Certificate in Computer Graphic Design from Northeastern University. Marianne lives in Humarock, Massachusetts with her family. When not in the office, you can find her at the beach with her family and friends and maybe a book, kayaking, or in the dunes walking with her dog Sunny.
